About the Event

GEOINFO is a consolidated and traditional event, held since 1999, dedicated to exploring research, development, and innovative applications in geographic information science and related areas.

Geoinformatics and GIScience are continually advancing, driven by the growing need to understand events and phenomena that are related to locations and time. This demand has motivated significant developments in the collection, management, analysis, and presentation of geospatial data over the years.

For 2026 and beyond, GEOINFO aims to adopt a new perspective on its areas of interest by framing Geospatial Data Science as a unifying research paradigm.

GEOINFO ranks among the top 10 conferences of its field by the special interest group on geoinformatics of the Brazilian Computer Society.
